Educating Trolling

As I was surfing TechCrunch today, I came across the link to I would not say that checking out site has changed my life, my it has given me an overview of how messed up the modern world is.

The site's author offers you to donate him nine bucks. Instead he promises to send a cute troll doll to Intellectual Ventures.

I'll say a couple of words about Intellectual Ventures to those of you who are too lazy to read Wikipedia articles. This company doesn't produce anything, doesn't develop anythin, and doesn't even plan to produce or develop anything. Well, honestly speaking, there is one thing the develop, and this is the source of most their revenues: this is an enormous patent portfolio. After licensing patents, Intellectual Investments start filing lawsuits against the companies 'infringing' their rights. As a result, the company's shareholders and executives are pulling in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars.

And that's the point, where I am asking myself: 'Wait a minute… They don't produce anything, they don't develope any new methods or technologies, and despite all that they manage to earn more money in a day than my whole family in a year? There's something wrong in it.'

Not that I am leftist or something, but I canot stay indifferent to such marked injustice. And if I cannot somehow have them closed down, then I'll try to at least annoy those high-brow guys, making money from thin air, and send them a nine-dollar troll doll. Wanna join?

The sad thing is that even if we start sending these trolls to them in bulk, they won't stop getting money for nothing. In our turn, we will firstly waste $9 and, secondly, feed another company that is trying to make money out of the same nothing :)
But the idea for business is remarkable :))

However, the troll senders are doing it for a just cause at least =-)
