A workplace in Victorian style

Dear Bloggers,

I want to share with you a link to the website of the creative steampunk workshop. I was very impressed with the pieces of art that they make! It is not just the world of things from the 19th — 20th centuries; the steampunk means a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery. The spirit of the style has its origins in the works of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Mary Shelley.

Nowadays this is a fast growing subculture, which refers to any artistic style: the elements of the steampunk can be found in the many things around us, such as furniture, clothing, architecture, music, as well as in films. Just a remarkable example: the BBC series Doctor Who incorporates steampunk elements in the design of the Doctor's time machine.

Here is also a video that reveals some secrets of turning an ordinary monitor and a unattractive keyboard into a masterpiece. I would say the result looks similar to the real antiques!

Would you like to have more things stylized as antique items at your home?

Nice idea to deal with! Looks charming but I'm afraid antique items demand some sort of atmosphere in the house. The computer like this will be odd in my ascetic flat =)

Really cool stuff. I'd love to have such a computer, even if it will require changes in the room style.
