Yahoo Japan has forwarded a new app, called Face Stealer, for iOS. The application seems to be two sided – fun on the one hand and a bit unfinished on the other. But let's go step by step.
First, it is funny: it applies a mask to your face and changes your look. The mask moves together with your face and hides your real identity. The result is quite unusual and unpredictable. It is also remarkable that the application that uses real time tracking is capable of working on a mobile, an iPhone in our case. By the way, the picture to add may be of an animal, a celebrity, your friend or neighbour, in other words: any with a face.
But on the other hand, it feels raw. The tracking feature is a bit slow (though this contributes greatly to the fun you get) and has very few points to rely on: two for eyes and five around the face. The mask applies roughly and is not that lovely to look at, eventually.
Doubtful is the fact that this one will be a good choice to use for hiding your identity in video calls, as it is a bit falling behind the real time, when reflecting the image. Still, it can own some minutes to help you relax, but one thing is to be admitted – the app is weird. For a closer look watch this video by DigInfo:
