Down with privacy!

Everybody who enters today his Gmail account will understand what I am talking about: the bright pictures and two buttons mark the beginning of a new epoch in our relations with Google.

The corporation has grown really giant, and now it seems to feel free to start laying down its own rules. The new rule is its extremely contradictory privacy policy that should come into effect on March 1, 2012. It reads, the corporation acquires the right to use all the gathered information for its own purposes. Moreover, as Google's new privacy policy allows uniting information that was acquired through all its products, the user should be sure: not only his Gmail will be read, but also his search queries will be recorded, and the followed links and watched videos will be piled as well. A plummy database for intelligence agencies, isn't it? Even bigger than that of Facebook or other social networks.

The most miserable fact is that Google has always fought for privacy. Or at least pretended to. Complete change of the policy? Maybe it should lead to a complete change of the audience?

Zocker Zocker # 0 Up Down

I think we should revise how Google's inofficial motto should be interpreted. 'Don't be vil, cuz that's what we are.'
